The flour mill on Zhebrunova Street in the Sokolniki area is one of the oldest grain processing enterprises in Russia.

In 1881, on the outskirts of Moscow, in the territory of Sokolnicheskoye Field, the first large steam roller mill of the company "Anton Erlanger & Co" began operations, capable of processing 120 tons of wheat and 48 tons of rye per day.

This mill, created by Erlanger, served as his main experimental base and headquarters, where plans for modernizing flour production in Russia were developed. It housed a design bureau, a school for millers, the editorial office of the magazine "Melnick", trained specialists, and tested new equipment.

After nationalization in 1918, Erlanger's mill became part of the joint-stock company "Khleborprodukt" under the name "State Mill No. 1", maintaining its leading position in the industry.

In 1923, serious reconstruction began, with the construction of a reinforced concrete flour storage. In 1929, the elevator tower was put into operation. Since 1930, the enterprise has operated two mills: the old "Erlanger" for rye grinding (No. 2) and the new one for wheat flour (No. 1). Since then, the mill has been known as "Mill Combine No. 1 named after A. D. Tsyurupa" of the joint-stock company "Soyuzkhleb".
