The workshop for repairing cars is the oldest building of the Mius tram park. It was used for the city’s horse-drawn tram and has been preserved since the establishment of the Mius park of horse railways in 1874. From a functional perspective, this building is unique for Moscow, as there are no other structures related to horse railways and public transport from the pre-electric era in the city’s heritage registers. Since 2017, the workshop has been recognized as a cultural heritage site of regional significance, along with other buildings in the complex.

This rectangular two-story brick building with extensions for a shed and forge was built in 1876 and 1878. It housed workshops, the office of the horse railway park, a sand drying room, storerooms, and a cafeteria. In the 20th century, the building was remodeled and, since the 1950s, after the repurposing of the tram depot, it has been used for repairing trolleybuses.

The building is designed in the "brick style," characteristic of industrial complexes in Russia from the late 19th century, allowing it to blend harmoniously into the ensemble of the Mius tram depot, most of whose structures were erected in the early 20th century. The main facade, facing Lesnaya Street, is adorned with a pediment, frieze, cornice, and pilasters. The facade windows feature fan-shaped lintels. Previously, the facade had four gates for the entry of cars, but in the 20th century, the two central gates were combined. Inside, the building was divided into rectangular sections by rows of support columns and was illuminated through the roof by skylights.

During the Soviet era, most of the facade windows were reduced or bricked up, and the roof with skylights was remodeled in the 1920s. The interiors preserved a cast-iron staircase from the early 1920s and Mettlach tiles on the floors.

During the restoration and adaptation of the workshop for restaurant spaces in the popular food court in 2017 and 2019, the historical dimensions of the building were preserved, decorative elements of the facades were restored, and damaged areas of the masonry and roofing were repaired. The workshop, like the entire complex, is an example of the successful transformation of old industrial objects for the modern needs of city residents.
