Sheino, like many other villages and hamlets in the Korochansky district, emerged in the 17th century during the construction of the Belgorod defensive line.

In 1800, a stone Church of the Nativity of Christ was built and consecrated in the village, featuring three altars. It was located in the center of the village, and a fruit orchard grew in the churchyard. In the 19th century, a watchman's lodge was erected next to the church, which housed the parish school. By the early 20th century, the parish had over two and a half thousand members.

In the 1930s, the church, which had served for nearly 150 years, was closed, services ceased, and the building was used as a warehouse. In 1943, during fierce battles in the village, the church was finally destroyed.

On January 28, 1999, a meeting of residents was held at the Sheino secondary school, where it was unanimously decided to restore the Orthodox parish. The old watchman's lodge from the 19th century, which had housed the parish school since 1871, was equipped for services.

On August 19, 2001, the church was consecrated by Archbishop Ioann of Belgorod and Stary Oskol.
