Income House of Merchant Nikolai Pinioteli

Фото 1
One of the remarkable architectural monuments of pre-revolutionary Rostov-on-Don is the income house of merchant Nikolai Pinioteli, built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Unfortunately, the history of this building has not been sufficiently studied, and today little is known about it. It is only known that before the revolution, the mansion belonged to Nikolai Pinioteli and was used as an income house, where one could rent an apartment for a moderate fee. After the arrival of Soviet power, the house was confiscated and turned into communal housing.

Currently, the apartments in this house are again privately owned, and there is also a children's and youth sports school located here. The building is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional significance. However, the necessary repairs have not been carried out. As seen in the photo, some windows are bricked up, and overall, the historical appearance of the house suffers due to the inaction of the relevant supervisory authorities.
