The village of Panfilovo is located 127 versts from Vladimir and 6 versts from Murom. According to the scribal books of 1629-1630, the village was transferred to Prince Y.Y. Suleyshov, and there was a wooden church in honor of the Ascension of the Lord. The income books of the Ryazan diocese from 1676 mention the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Panfilovo, next to which were the houses of priest Luka, the houses of deacons, sextons, and prosphora bakers, as well as 128 peasant households and 3 households of landless peasants.

In the church foundation decree issued by Bishop Viktor of Suzdal and Vladimir in 1791, it is stated that there was a stone church in Panfilovo in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It is unknown when and by whom it was built. Bishop Viktor allowed the construction of a warm wooden church in honor of the Ascension of the Lord with chapels in the name of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos and the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

It is unknown whether this church was built, but from the decree of 1810 issued by Bishop Ksenofont of Vladimir, it follows that the reconstruction of churches in Panfilovo occurred differently. The stone church was expanded, with the main altar arranged in honor of the Ascension of the Lord, and chapels in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. At the same time, a stone bell tower was built. Until 1892, the church existed in this form, after which the cold and warm churches were expanded. The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Ascension of the Lord, and in the warm chapels, in honor of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church is rich in utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. The Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God is especially venerated, adorned with a silver-gilded vestment and a crown decorated with precious stones.

According to the staff, there are two priests, a deacon, and two psalmists serving at the church. Their maintenance is provided by a capital of 108 rubles, income from haymaking land of 240 rubles, arable land of 25 rubles, and services amounting to 1700 rubles per year. The houses of the clergy are located on church land. The parish includes the village of Panfilovo and the villages of Levashovo and Zagryazhskaya, where the clerical records list 300 households and 2541 residents.

The village has a zemstvo public school, opened in 1845 by Count Uvarov, the owner of the village and former Minister of Public Education. There is also a literacy school in the village, and in the parish, a factory school at the Kolpinka factory.
