According to the patriarchal accounting books, the church in the village of Kudryavtsevo, also known as Ostashkovo, in the estate of the brothers Korobov, Fyodor, Ilya, and Nester Vasilievich, was founded by 1656. By 1721, the building had fallen into disrepair, and the local owners Nikita Korobov and Maxim Chagin decided to build a new church. However, due to their deaths, the construction was delayed, and the temple was consecrated in 1732 at the request of the new owners, Prince Turkestanov and the widow Korobova, also in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In 1816, the church burned down, and in 1817, the landowner Pavel Alexandrovich Samsonov began the construction of a stone church. After his death, the work was halted for a long time and was completed only in 1849. In 1871, a bell tower was erected. The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, consecrated in 1849, as well as chapels in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, consecrated in 1841, and the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, consecrated in 1847.
