The Sretensko-Transfiguration Church in the Spaso-Transfiguration Monastery served as a warm temple for the Spaso-Transfiguration Church. The first mention of the wooden church is found in the Census Book of 1630. It burned down in 1679 along with the cold Spaso-Transfiguration Church, and a new wooden church was built on this site. From 1689 to 1696, a stone Spaso-Transfiguration Church was erected nearby. In 1715, the wooden church burned down again, and only in 1725 did the construction of the stone building begin, blessed by Bishop Bogolep of Veliky Ustyug and Totma. The construction lasted 14 years and was completed in 1739. The church was consecrated on August 7, 1740, in honor of the Meeting of the Lord.

The Church of the Meeting is an outstanding example of local cult architecture from the second third of the 18th century. A distinctive feature of the building is the placement of the bell in the upper tiers, which makes it, unlike other Ustyug churches, a church 'for bells.' For this purpose, a passage to the open octagons forming the bell tower is arranged above the semi-closed vault of the main room. This construction indicates the insufficient preparation of local architects to solve such complex tasks.

Inside the Sreten Church, there is a small two-tiered iconostasis, likely created in the late 18th or early 19th century. Despite its modest size, it is very pompously decorated. The central axis is highlighted by the royal gates and a large central icon, as well as significant projections of the side parts with powerful cornices on smooth paired columns. The royal gates with fine carved patterns and figures of the evangelists seem somewhat fragile for the entire structure, but this impression is softened by the large carved radiance above the gates and the large baroque cartouche framing the icon of the 'Last Supper.' This is also aided by the paired columns on either side of the gates and the skillfully decorated icons flanking the central image of Christ.
