Semyinskoye, located on the Koloksha River, is 15 versts from Yuryev and 55 versts from Vladimir. In the 15th and early 16th centuries, the village belonged to the Vladimir Assumption Convent. In 1512, Grand Duke Vasily Ivanovich of Moscow purchased it from the convent, and from then until the mid-17th century, it is mentioned in documents as a "state palace village."

In 1657, according to the patriarchal treasury books, Semyinskoye belonged to Yak.K. Cherkassky. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the village was owned by the Sheremetev counts. A church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker has existed in the village since ancient times, mentioned in the patriarchal books of 1628, 1654, and 1657. Until the 1820s, the church was wooden. In 1825, thanks to the efforts of Count Dmitry Nikolaevich Sheremetev and the parishioners, the construction of a stone church began, completed and consecrated in 1832. Simultaneously with the church, a stone bell tower was built, and in 1862, both buildings were enclosed by a stone fence. The church has two altars: one in the cold part in honor of St. Nicholas and the other in the warm chapel in honor of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian.

Church documents have been preserved in full: copies of the metric books since 1817, confession lists since 1829, and an inventory of church property was compiled in 1880. The church owns 1 desyatina of estate land and 33 desyatinas of haymaking and arable land; the plan and boundary book for the land are kept in the church.

According to the staff, the clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance amounts to 500 rubles a year: 200 rubles from the land and 300 rubles for sacramental services. The clergy's houses are located on church land. The church owns a stone watchman's lodge. The parish includes the village and the villages of Turgino, Osipovets, Novoe, and Vizeksha; the parish has 191 households, with 577 men and 687 women living there.
