The warm winter church for the Ioannovsky Cathedral was dedicated to Saint Blaise of Sebaste. Although exact data on its construction is lacking, it was likely built simultaneously with the cold church of the Origin of the Cross. The first mention of it appears in the "Hundred Book" of 1630: "The church of Saint Blaise, serves in winter, icons and books and candles and vestments and church vessels are brought for winter from John the Fool for Christ."

In 1649, the church of Blaise of Sebaste burned down. In its place, according to the decree of the Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl dated September 5, 1650, a new church was built in honor of the Holy Martyr Blaise with an altar dedicated to Saint Cyril of Belozersk, the miracle worker.

The "Pistcovye Books" of 1683 provide a more detailed description of the church of Blaise of Sebaste: "Of the same parish, a wooden warm church with two domes in the name of the holy martyr Blaise, bishop of Sebaste."

In the altar of the church, on the altar table, there was a Gospel with copper Evangelists and a cross covered with copper. Behind the altar table was an icon of the Most Holy Theotokos Odigitria. In the church, the royal doors were wooden, above them a Deesis on seven boards, an icon of Blaise of Sebaste with a life, adorned with silver, and an icon of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The warm church of the Epiphany of the Lord was small, with one dome on a blind neck. The roof and dome were iron, painted, and the cross on the dome was gilded iron. On the south side of the church, a watchman's hut was added, and on the west, three stone storerooms with a narrow porch between them. The vaults in the church were stone, the floors were tiled, and the walls were painted.

The altar was separated from the church by a stone pier with two doors: royal and deacon's. The pre-altar iconostasis was carpentered with eight columns supporting four cornices. The columns were covered with gilded paper. The shining, carved Cherubim above the cornices, the frames, and all the carvings were gilded.

The royal doors were decorated with carvings depicting grapevines, with six frames: the Evangelists and the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. To the right of the royal doors were icons of the Epiphany of the Lord, Holy Martyr Blaise with miracles, possibly from the first stone church, and Saint Nicholas the Miracle Worker. To the left of the royal doors were icons of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, Archangel Michael on the deacon's door, and Righteous Procopius of Ustyug. Above the royal doors in the frames is depicted the Last Supper, above it the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove in radiance, higher, a starry sky and a carved Lord Sabaoth.

At the northern wall of the church, in a separate kiot, there was an icon of Righteous John of Ustyug with a robe and crowns embroidered with silver and gold, the crowns adorned with small German pearls.

The refectory was separated from the church by a stone pier with three doors. In the piers between the doors were icons of the Almighty and the Mother of God of All Who Sorrow, with the inscription: "True image of the miraculous icon of All Who Sorrow, located in Moscow in the church of the Venerable Varlaam of Khutyn, on Ordynskaya Street." Above the doors and icons on the wall, in plaster, are depicted the Resurrection of Christ, the Meeting of the Lord, and the Nativity of Christ.
