The client approved the plan, and the construction of Borel's mansion began in 1909, soon finishing.

Architect Zybin decided to experiment with the forms of the building, applying techniques of free volumes in an expressive style. This turned out to be so original and attractive that even today the house is a must-see on tourist routes in Saratov. Among the most successful elements of the mansion's exterior, one can note the skillfully executed windows of different sizes, protruding cornices, and elegant loggias. The interior of the house has preserved oak staircases, magnificent fireplaces, and other design elements that have survived years of neglect.

In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that the mansion is associated with a love story that has no direct confirmations but is reflected in the popular name of the house. According to some sources, Emmanuel Ivanovich had a young mistress named Elena (a name likely fictional), to whom he gifted this house. However, after the arrival of the Bolsheviks, all private property was nationalized, and it is no longer possible to establish the veracity of this version. The legend continues to live on, fueling interest in this monument of antiquity.
