Konstantin Balmont made a significant contribution to the development of Lithuanian culture: he translated Lithuanian folk songs and tales into Russian, lectured on Lithuanian folklore at the Sorbonne, participated in poetry evenings, and wrote works about Lithuania. In 2011, thanks to the initiative of the Lithuanian-Russian charitable foundation named after Jurgis Baltrušaitis, a monument to Balmont was erected in the Žverynas park in Vilnius. Sculptor Mindaugas Šnipas and architect Tauras Budzis created this monument with private donations and the involvement of Balmont's Lithuanian descendants. It is located in a small park near the Russian embassy in Lithuania, in one of the most beautiful districts of Vilnius, Žverynas. The monument is made of metal and resembles a tree trunk. The opening took place in May 2011.

The poet is depicted in his characteristic hat, with a gaze directed towards distant times. This is how he could be seen on the streets of Vilnius and Kaunas, where he performed multiple times during the interwar years.

The sculptor and architect of the monument are Mindaugas Šnipas and Tauras Budzis. Nina Mackevič, the administrator of the Lithuanian-Russian Foundation named after Baltrušaitis, emphasizes that Balmont's contribution to Lithuanian culture is hard to overestimate. During the interwar period, he dedicated many poems to Lithuania and its cultural figures, such as J. Baltrušaitis, V. Kreve, L. Gira, and others. His translations of Lithuanian folk songs and tales into Russian were published in prestigious publications in Europe and America. Additionally, he lectured on Lithuanian folk art at the Sorbonne, which contributed to the popularization of Lithuania and its culture in the world.
