The Krylovsky Historical Museum opened its doors on May 9, 1990. It was founded by Vera Antonovna Zhosan, a teacher of history, Russian language, and literature at Krylovskaya Secondary School No. 2.

She dedicated nearly four decades to educating and nurturing the youth. At the school, she led the historical club "Young Historian," which included 28 students. They collected materials from local residents for the future museum. Vera Antonovna actively reached out to the community through the newspaper "Avangard," urging them to bring household items, tools, clothing, antique weapons, books, photographs, old money, documents, letters from front-line soldiers, and other exhibits.

Over time, the collection grew, and Vera Antonovna's home lacked space for storage. On November 30, 1984, the Krylovsky District Council of People's Deputies made the decision to open a historical museum in the district center. That same year, a book titled "Essays on the History of Krylovskaya Stanitsa" was published, dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the stanitsa. All collected exhibits and materials, as well as books, formed the basis of the museum. Unfortunately, Vera Antonovna did not live to see the museum's opening; her life was cut short prematurely. The further work on organizing the museum was continued by Maria Mikhailovna Derdunova, who became its director. The next director was Nina Konstantinovna Varnavskikh, who devoted all her efforts and resources to preserving and ensuring the successful operation of the museum.
