The history of Old Believers in Omsk began in the early 20th century, when only 10 families of Old Believers lived in the city. After the agrarian reform of Stolypin in 1905, about 50 supporters of "two-finger" baptism moved to Omsk from various parts of the country. Five years later, a church community was established in the name of St. Nicholas.

The city authorities allocated a plot of land on 4th Line Street for the construction of a prayer house free of charge. Over time, the number of parishioners in the Old Believer church increased, and in 1915, a decision was made to build a new stone building.

However, mass repressions in the late 1930s abruptly halted the development of Old Belief. Until 1995, believers had to travel to Novosibirsk for prayer.

The restoration of the Old Believer community took place on September 14, 1995. Father Pavel recalls how they began searching for a building for the church. After long searches and many refusals, they managed to rent a two-story building at 10 Shchetinkina Street for 10 years, albeit in a dilapidated state, but in the city center.

After three years of repairs, a dome and a holy cross were installed on the church roof, making it visible from afar. That same year, the solemn consecration of the Omsk St. Nicholas Church took place.
