In 1873, Dr. A.F. Redlich acquired the property and set up a hydrotherapy center on the first floor, offering artificial, mineral, and fruit waters. The second floor housed residential apartments.
The left part of the building was constructed by architect A.E. Erichson in 1894 on the site of a garden specifically for Dr. Redlich. Until 1917, the house was rented to the Gymnastics Society, where Anatoly and Vladimir Durov trained.
