From 1635 to 1637, on the western side of the monastery, along the path from the Kalichiye Gates to the Trinity Cathedral, a tent church was built in honor of the holy Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki. This became possible thanks to the efforts of the cellarer Alexander Bulatnikov, a native of the Solovetsky Monastery, who for 20 years, from 1622 to 1641, worked on the restoration and construction of the Trinity Monastery after the devastating siege by Polish-Lithuanian troops in the early 17th century.

The hospital church is the only tent temple of the Lavra. The decorative tent's kokoshniks resemble the facades of ancient temples of the Lavra from the 15th-16th centuries. The decor of the apse, made of brick ties and garlands with white stone inserts, echoes the apses of the Dukhova Church.

The church is dedicated to the founders of the Solovetsky Monastery, and its shape is likely inspired by the tent structure of the main church of the Solovetsky Monastery, the Transfiguration Cathedral.

The Church of Zosima and Savvatiy, located on a high base, connects the southern and northern two-story chambers known as the Hospital Chambers. In the 17th century, up to fifty hospital elders lived in these chambers, who could enter the church through the western porch without going outside.

In 1743-1745, the Hospital Chambers were connected to the Treasury building and hidden from the cathedral square by a facade with a gallery on stone arches. Only the tent of the church reminded of the chambers. From 1938 to 1950, under the guidance of architect I.V. Trofimov, the late facade was removed, and the chambers were returned to their medieval appearance.

Today, the church and chambers represent a complex of buildings erected on the site of the old hospital from 1552. The southern building was laid in 1635 and later raised, while the northern building dates back to the second half of the 17th century. The structure is made of brick, with decor of white stone and glazed tiles depicting warriors and cannons, reminiscent of the heroic defense of the monastery in 1608-1610.

The abundance of decor gives the chambers and the church a festive and cheerful character typical of 17th-century architecture. The interior space of the church is small and intimate, as the tent is isolated from the main volume. The Church of Zosima and Savvatiy serves as the chapel of the Governor's quarters. Inside the church is an ancient icon of Zosima and Savvatiy, depicted before the image of the Most Holy Theotokos "Znamenie," commissioned by cellarer Alexander Bulatnikov. The modern iconostasis was created in 2001-2002. In the southern and northern buildings near the church are the quarters of the Governor, the Cathedral Chamber, and the monastery library.
