In 1859, the village of Ubinsk had 146 households with a population of 691. By that time, a church and a chapel had been built in the village. In 1896, a station appeared here on the Trans-Siberian Railway.

According to the "Reference Book of the Tomsk Diocese for 1910-1911", there was a single-altar wooden church in Ubinsk dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, built in 1869 during the episcopate of Platon Troepolsky. The church owned 99 desyatins of arable and hay land, and the distance to Tomsk was 432 versts. The parish included the village of Ubinsk in the Kainsky district, the village of Yelanskaya located 17 versts away, and resettler villages at distances ranging from 12 to 30 versts. The total number of parishioners was 2261 people of both genders. The clergy included one priest and one psalmist, who received a salary from the treasury of 180 rubles and income from church services. A civil department school and a library operated at the church, and the parish charitable committee existed since 1893. In 1909, the priest was Nikolai Nikolayevich Kopyev, and the psalmist was Mikhail Fedotovich Bogoyavlensky.

On June 27, 1995, Nikolai Konstantinovich Zabaluev visited the village of Ubinsk, confirming that his great-grandfather Vasily Karpovich Arkhangelsky served as a priest in the Nikolsk church until August 15, 1909, and baptized his son Alexander Vasilyevich, Zabaluev's grandfather, there. This event is recorded in the church books from 1900.

During the years of turmoil, the Nikolsk church was destroyed. On July 13, 1993, at a parish meeting chaired by Archpriest Sergey Gosudarkin, a Parish Council was elected, and the name of the Parish was determined to be in honor of the Venerable Sergius of Radonezh. After collecting signatures and coordinating with local authorities, a blessing was received from Bishop Tikhon for the opening of the church and the registration of the Parish.

The Ubinsk village council transferred a building at 2 Lenin Street, previously occupied by "Kinoset", to the Parish. On April 6, 1996, Bishop Sergey consecrated the antimins for the new Parish. On October 27, 1999, the Parish was registered with the justice authorities.

The modern small brick church with a tent-shaped bell tower was built in the 1990s and features simple architecture.
