The village of Kosagovo is located two kilometers from the village of Lykovo, and the church in Kosagovo was affiliated with the Lykovo church. It is likely that the name of the village originated from the surname of its owners, as in this part of the Yuryyevsky district, the noble Kosagov family also owned the village of Yeltsy.

Documents from the Patriarchal Treasury Office in 1628 mention: "The church of the holy apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Kosagovo pays 12 altyn 2 denga."

In 1826, a stone church of the Holy Supreme Apostles Peter and Paul was built in the village, along with a stone bell tower, constructed through the efforts of Lieutenant Bologovsky. The church has two altars, the second of which is located in the warm chapel and is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra.

During the Soviet period, the church was closed and desecrated, and the bell tower was destroyed.

Nearby is the ruined building of the parish school, built in the late 19th century.
