Archaeological studies of the village revealed a cultural layer up to one meter thick. During the research in 1939, it was found that the settlement emerged at the end of the first millennium AD, when the Ilmen Slavs began to develop the Poozerye region. According to the land registry of the Shelonskaya region from 1501, Rakomo, a state village with 47 households, was transferred by Ivan the Terrible to the Klopsky Monastery in 1584. However, by the 17th century, Rakomo again fell under the jurisdiction of the Palace Order.

According to the land registry of the Shelonskaya region from 1629, the village had 50 households, of which 45 were taxable and 5 were landless, and there was a church of Fyodor Stratilat. In 1743, a new church of Fyodor Stratilat was built. In 1760, Peter III transferred the Rakomo volost to the Holstein nobleman Debressan, and later it passed to the Roslavlevs. In 1820, these lands were acquired by V.I. Semeyevsky, who in 1824 built a stone church of the Sign of the Mother of God with a bell tower at his own expense. In 1870, the owner became officer L.E. Adamovich. At the beginning of the 20th century, the village had a population of 500, with 100 households, a church, and three chapels. Currently, the Sign Church and its bell tower are in a semi-ruined state.
