Originally, the church in honor of Dmitry of Thessalonica in Kubaevo, like in many other villages, was wooden. The 1850 census mentions the existence of a wooden Dmitrievskaya church here. The parish was small and included only one village. The church was built in the early 18th century. By the mid-19th century, the building had deteriorated, but due to the parish's poverty, a new stone church was only constructed in the early 20th century. A church school operated at the church. During the Soviet era, the church was abandoned, and now only ruins remain. A memorial cross has been erected near the church.
