The construction of this unique church began in 1675 by order of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. Before this, there was a wooden church on this site, built near the sovereign's travel palace in Taininskoye.

In 1751, by the order of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, an altar in honor of Saints Zacharias and Elizabeth was created in the northern part of the refectory and consecrated in 1763.

In 1812, the church was looted by French troops. After the end of the Patriotic War, services in the church resumed. In 1882, with the help of benefactors, a new altar dedicated to the Holy Prophet Elijah was established in the southern part of the refectory.

In 1929, the church was closed by the Soviet authorities and soon turned into a club. The building then housed a bread shop, a warehouse, a dormitory, a meat shop, a toy factory, and a carpentry workshop.

Only in 1989 was the church returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. It was consecrated again and services resumed.

The Church of the Annunciation in Taininskoye has preserved its structure to this day. It includes a refectory with choirs, a square section, and an altar part. The church is topped with five domes: one large and four small. One of its main attractions is the porch, which has no analogs in ancient Russian stone architecture. The church is visited by parishioners from the surrounding areas, including Mytishchi and the northern districts of Moscow. Today, the church is recognized as a monument of federal significance.
