The estate house was built in the late 18th century by Lev Andreyevich Batyushkov, the grandfather of the famous poet Konstantin Nikolaevich Batyushkov. To this day, a two-story wooden structure with columns has been preserved, surrounded by an old park and a pine alley. The original linden park included fourteen alleys, but now only six remain.

Konstantin Batyushkov (1787-1855), an outstanding poet and representative of early Russian Romanticism, spent his childhood years in Danilovskoye. The estate in Danilovskoye is the only memorial house of the K. N. Batyushkov family in Russia. It houses all known images of the poet, a lifetime edition of his works "Experiments in Verse and Prose," books from the family library, as well as interior and household items from that time.

The name of Alexander Kuprin (1870-1938) is associated with the Batyushkov estate, as he was a close friend of the last owner of the estate, Fyodor Dmitrievich Batyushkov (1857-1920), a professor at St. Petersburg University, philologist, critic, and literary scholar. Kuprin visited Danilovskoye from 1906 to 1911, staying there for a week, two, or sometimes several months, totaling about two years. The writer loved to hunt and fish with local peasants. In this place, he not only rested but also actively worked, creating works such as "Sulamith," "The Elephant," "Emerald," "The River of Life," "Offense," "Liquid Sun," "How I Became an Actor," "Dogs," "The Beggars," the essay "Divers," the initial chapters of "The Pit," as well as articles about Knut Hamsun and Anton Chekhov.

On September 7, 1960, in honor of the 90th anniversary of A. I. Kuprin's birth, a folk museum was opened in the estate house, which later became a branch of the Ustyuzhensky Local History Museum. The museum in Danilovskoye became the first Kuprin museum in the country and the first folk museum in the Vologda region. An exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of K. N. Batyushkov was opened in 1987.
