In the center of the monastery, on a steep elevation, stands the majestic two-story stone cathedral dedicated to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This temple was built in 1549 with funds from the prince of Belozersk, Andrei Staritsky, and his wife, Euphrosinia, who took the monastic name Evdokia. The cathedral has five domes and is covered with an iron roof with four slopes. It has six chapels: five on the upper floor and one on the lower. On the northern side, a stone porch adjoins the temple, from which the entrance to the church begins via a wooden staircase with two landings. On the southern side, a large stone chamber for the sacristy has been added. Both the porch and the sacristy were added during the abbess Mauricia's tenure. The vaults of the porch are supported by a large stone column, from which two large arches lead into the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the Smolensk Mother of God, and on the northern side, into the chapels of Saint Great Martyr Catherine and Prince Dmitry. The church has small choirs. The main altar is tripartite, with three semicircles facing east. The iconostasis of the main altar is four-tiered, made of wood with 12 columns and adorned with gilded carvings. The royal gates are also wooden, with four small columns.

The icons of the iconostasis are remarkable for their ancient origin and rich decoration. Special attention is drawn to the icons of the lower tier, measuring 1.5 arshins in length and 1.25 arshins in width. Notably, the icon of the Resurrection of Christ is located to the right of the royal gates, depicting the Lord's descent into hell and His Ascension to heaven. Its robe is embroidered with pearls on foil, and the radiance is in gold. Next is the icon of the Lord Almighty with a silver-gilded crown, adorned with 20 medium-sized multicolored stones; the robe is embroidered with small pearls and multicolored stones, and the background is in gold. To the left of the royal gates are the icons of the Mother of God Odigitria and the Tolga Mother of God, their robes also embroidered with gold and silk and adorned with small pearls. Particularly notable is the icon of Saint Great Martyr Catherine, depicting her suffering, which, according to legend, was gifted by Tsar Ivan the Terrible. All these ancient icons have archaeological value and are objects of special veneration for both the nuns of the monastery and all visitors to the church.
