Unfortunately, many old buildings in Rostov-on-Don are still not in order. The mansion of the second guild merchant Boris Korotkov evokes a feeling of sadness at first glance. This house, built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, served as the home for the Korotkov family until the arrival of the Bolsheviks.
With the advent of Soviet power, the house was confiscated, and the fate of its former owners remains unknown. Without proper care, the two-story building has fallen into disrepair and now looks pitiful, although it still stands due to its sturdiness. The building is listed as a cultural heritage site, but it has not been renovated.
