Unknown Water Blessing Chapel of the Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery in Vologda

Фото 1
To the northeast of the monastery's Spassky Cathedral lies a small wooden chapel built over a well, which, according to legend, was dug by the venerable Dmitry Prilutsky himself. It was erected in the 1990s on the site of a round stone chapel that was destroyed during the Soviet era. Before the revolution, this chapel housed a small iconostasis and also stored a cross established by the venerable Dmitry Prilutsky at the foundation of the monastery. The vaults of the chapel were adorned with oil paintings. Currently, the water from the well is used for water blessing services.
