The Sports Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Sh.Kh. Galeev was founded in 1996 and has been located in the Palace of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2001. The museum has two exhibition halls, each with an area of 150 square meters.
In the hall dedicated to the history of sports, there are 30 showcases covering 28 sports and 9 personal stands dedicated to sports figures. The Hall of Olympic Glory includes 33 showcases dedicated to Olympians, 12 showcases with Olympic clothing, and 7 stands with biographies. There is also a small hall where sports veterans gather weekly.
The museum's collections hold more than eleven thousand authentic exhibits, without replicas or copies. The exhibits reflect the sports achievements of teams and athletes at the European, world, and Olympic levels.
The museum organizes tours and exhibitions dedicated to various sports. Cultural and mass events are held with the participation of children's and youth sports schools, meetings with famous athletes and Olympians, congratulations to sports veterans on anniversary dates, as well as honors for outstanding sports figures, coaches, and athletes.
