The building that today houses the MBUK Museum "Radogosh" was, according to local historians, built in the late 19th century and belonged to the aristocratic merchant Levando. Although he lived in St. Petersburg, this house served as his winter dacha, and the locals called it Levandina Hill. Later, the city Duma was located here, with a charter of Magdeburg law hanging on the second floor, while the police station was on the first.

After the revolution, the building housed the district party committee and local authorities. In the 1970s and 1980s, a music school operated here. In 1986, the building was transferred to become a historical and local history museum.

In May 2016, the museum celebrated its 30th anniversary. It plays a significant role and is popular. Regular meetings with veterans are held here, as well as Courage lessons, a club for meetings with interesting people, and Lufer readings in memory of our fellow countryman, historian A. M. Luferov, along with numerous excursions. The museum hosts the search team "Sudost". Currently, the museum holds over ten thousand exhibits in its main and scientific auxiliary collections. It is one of the most dynamically developing municipal museums in the Bryansk region, with unique collections of ancient coins and documents. In 2012 and 2017, the museum's exhibition was completely updated, all rooms were renovated, and the territory was improved. On December 17, 2013, a grand opening of new halls and exhibitions took place after a major renovation supported by the Bryansk region and district administration. Guests were presented with updated and new exhibitions: "Archaeology and Ethnography", "Life of Old Pogar", "Hall of Military Glory", "Hall of Famous Countrymen", "History of Education, Culture, and Sports in the District", "Development of Agriculture and Industry in the District in the 20th Century", "The Era of Socialism. 1917-1991 in Pogar District", "History of Household Appliances of the 19th-20th Centuries". On May 18, International Museum Day, the traditional "Night at the Museum" is held.

The exhibition hall features works by folk craftsmen, artists, and children's applied art. A creative living room hosts a club for interesting meetings and interactive games.

In 2016, the museum won a grant from the V. Potanin Charitable Foundation as part of the "Museum Guide" program to create a museum tourist route "Pogar, the Last City of Magdeburg Law", which was successfully opened in 2017 with theatrical performances by the museum theater.
