The village of Lobanovka, like Istopki, Ropsk, and Sachkovichi, according to Saint Filaret (Gumilevsky), Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, is one of the oldest settlements in the Novozybkov district of Chernihiv province, now located in the Klimovo district of Bryansk region.

The wooden church in the name of the Holy Trinity in Lobanovka is first mentioned in archival documents from 1793. According to local residents, a brick bell tower was built next to the church in the 19th century. In 1856, the church was renovated. On March 4, 1930, the Klimovo district executive committee decided to close the church, but the exact date of its closure is unknown. The State Archive of Bryansk region holds the minutes of the Klimovo RIK meeting from March 4, 1930, which contains a petition from the Lobanovsky village council for the alienation of the church and its transfer to the collective farm "Novy Byt" for use as a seed storage. In 1937, priest Panteleimon Ignatenko, who lived in Lobanovka, was arrested and executed. In 1948-49, the church and bell tower were destroyed, and a village club was built from their bricks.

In 1998, an Orthodox community was established in the village. The local administration transferred a small brick building to the parish, where, thanks to the efforts of priest Alexander Markin, a church was arranged.

In the autumn of 2008, natural gas was brought to the church and heating was installed. In the summer of 2009, a major renovation was carried out inside the building, and icons were hung on the walls in new frames. In 2011, the roof of the church was completely replaced and a metal cross was installed.
