The Historical and Local Lore Museum of Brasovsky District was established by the decision of the District Council of People's Deputies on June 24, 2009. On November 3, 2010, on the eve of the Day of National Unity, the museum opened its doors to visitors.

The museum is engaged in the collection, study, preservation, and exhibition of natural history artifacts, as well as material and spiritual culture. It also conducts educational activities and actively interacts with children, teenagers, and youth, promoting their patriotic and spiritual-moral education.

Currently, the museum has more than 750 exhibits in its main and scientific auxiliary collections. Exhibits are donated by residents of Brasovsky District as free gifts.

The museum has conducted significant research on the history of the estate "Brasovo" during the Apraxin era, the fates of local residents who perished or went missing in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the history of the partisan movement and underground organizations in the district. This research has formed the basis for excursions, lessons of courage, and exhibitions.

Another area of the museum's activity is the study of the history of the settlements in the district. To date, the history of 129 settlements has been studied, many of which have already disappeared from the map.

The museum actively conducts search work in archives, discovering award sheets of Heroes of the Soviet Union and war veterans who lived in the district. Work is also underway with citizens' requests to find documents on war participants from other regions.

In the Year of Ecology, the museum organized exhibitions of local photographers dedicated to the nature of the region, as well as ecological quizzes and exhibitions. In the Year of Russian Cinema, there were exhibitions of film equipment and quizzes, as well as screenings of documentary films. In the Year of Literature, exhibitions of books by local authors and presentations took place, including the book by Turkov V.T. "With Love for the Motherland."

The museum also conducts traveling exhibitions. In 2014, it visited all rural schools in the district, and in 2015, as part of the "Victory Agitation Train" campaign, it organized trips with exhibitions to rural cultural houses.

The museum attracts visitors from other regions, and the number of visits and exhibitions is constantly growing. For two consecutive years, it hosted the district competition for chairpersons and guides of school museums.
