The branch of the Historical Museum is located in one of the most beautiful old buildings in Tula, the mansion of the Belolipetsky family. Throughout its history, this house has changed its purpose several times: from a flour mill to a hospital for the wounded in World War I.

In 2014, the restoration of Tula's Arbat, Metallists Street, began. The mansion of the Belolipetsky merchants was renovated and in 2019 was handed over for the establishment of a branch of the State Historical Museum.

Exhibitions in this branch showcase the best exhibits from all the collection funds of the Historical Museum, including invaluable memorial relics, masterpieces of decorative and applied arts, items of folk costume, archaeological finds, weapons, and paintings.
