The church dedicated to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God was built above the Holy Gates of the monastery as a parish church. It was intended for the sacraments of Marriage and Baptism, as well as for services conducted by family priests and psalmists without the involvement of nuns. This is due to the fact that church canons prohibit conducting ceremonies such as weddings and baptisms in monastery churches, as they do not correspond to the place where people live who have withdrawn from the world and family.

The church was consecrated in 1865 by Bishop Polycarp of Oryol and Sevsk. On the lower floor, near the Holy Gates, thanks to the efforts of Abbess Antonina, the sisters, and benefactors, the Trinity Church was established, consecrated in 1887. This church housed a burial vault where the remains of Schema-Abbess Seraphima, the abbess of the Holy Vvedensky Monastery from 1821 to 1845, were laid to rest, revered by the nuns and many residents of Oryol. During the Soviet era, the upper tier of the church was dismantled, and the premises were used for secular purposes. For example, in the last decades before the return of church life, the management and workshops of the Vulkan factory were located here. The burial vault in the Trinity Church was filled with concrete, and the fate of the remains of Schema-Abbess Seraphima remains unknown, as searches yielded no results.

Parish life around the church resumed in the 1990s, and the first Liturgy was held in 1994. In 1995, the revival of monastic life at the Holy Vvedensky Women's Monastery began. The restoration of the drum with the tented top started in 1996 and was completed a year later with the installation of the dome and cross. Today, the Tikhvin Church is the main temple of the Holy Vvedensky Women's Monastery in Oryol, where services are held daily. Restoration work continues on the lower floor, in the premises of the Trinity Church.
