Today, the Ioanno-Mariinsky women's monastery is located on its historical site, occupying a third of the territory of a psychiatric clinic. The restoration of the monastery, which was destroyed during the Soviet years, began in 2004 when a small monastic community was established at the former site under the guidance of the abbess, nun Ioanna (Likhomanova). In its first year of existence, the monastery proved its viability: the sisters organized a Sunday school for children and provided assistance to the hospital's branch.

The revival of the monastery literally began from the ruins. On February 17, 2006, one of the many buildings that once belonged to the holy monastery was officially transferred from the psychiatric hospital to the Stavropol diocese. This small cell building marked the beginning of a new era in the life of the monastery in the City of the Cross. Unfortunately, four out of five monastery churches were completely demolished, and the fifth was significantly rebuilt and has not yet been returned to its rightful owner. The dilapidated two-story building, which had been neglected for decades, was gradually restored with the blessing of Bishop Theophan and then his successor, Metropolitan Kirill.

In 2011, a church was opened in the restored sisterhood building of the monastery, where Priest Vasily Strukov regularly conducts services and all necessary rites. The spiritual life of the monastery, as in former times, is very rich: Mother Abbess, nuns, novices, and postulants honorably fulfill their prayer and labor duties, assist in the construction of a new building, engage in the spiritual education of children in the Sunday school, raise goats and poultry, cultivate garden plots, harvest, and share with those in need.

The monastery is always open to pilgrims, whom the sisters gladly invite to pray and treat to a delicious monastic meal, also available on any Orthodox holiday. The monastery actively collaborates with the Spaso-Preobrazhensky rehabilitation center: homeless individuals, as well as those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, come to the monastery for food and receive spiritual support here, learn about the rehabilitation center, and go there with hope for healing and a return to a full life in society.
