In 1780, a brick Cross Exaltation church with an altar in honor of St. Nicholas was built on the site of a wooden parish church in the village of Dukhovo. By 1821, this church, supported by the villagers, had fallen into disrepair. It was decided to dismantle it and merge the parishioners with the church of St. Dmitry of Thessalonica in the village of Yamskaya Sloboda. In the same year, thanks to the efforts of Abbot Augustine, a stone church in honor of St. Nicholas was built on the freed site, and in 1829, an altar in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was added.

By that time, three richly decorated churches had been built on the monastery grounds: the Trinity Cathedral, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the Church of the Image Not Made by Hands of Christ the Savior. Such diversity and richness of decoration could not have been sustained solely by the modest income of the monastery in the 18th and 19th centuries. The luxurious adornment of the monastery became possible thanks to generous donations from noble and influential families in Russia, such as the Golitsyns, Dolgorukovs, Hilkovs, Shuyskys, Vasilychikovs, Vorotynskys, as well as the boyars Bordukovs, Simonovs, Orlins, Timiryazevs, Kazakovs, and others.

The miraculous image of St. Nicholas of Myra the Wonderworker ('Nicholas the Good') in the Nicholas Church received special veneration. Since the 1770s, this icon participated in processions, including the longest one that began on Trinity Day and concluded with the September festivities. During this time, villagers of all ages would come to the monastery in festive attire and carry the icon on foot for distances of up to 40-50 versts.

Today, only the walls of the Nicholas Church remain partially preserved.
