The architecture of the surviving Meeting Church, with its three domes, is characterized by lightness and cheerfulness. The exact date of its construction is unknown. According to the monastery's legend, it was built during the reign of Tsar Peter in 1690, however, a delivery inventory from 1681 indicates that the church already existed at that time. It is even mentioned in the book of donations under the year 1678. According to the work of Archimandrite Ieorofei "Bryansk Swensk Uspensky Monastery", the church was built on the site where Grand Duke Roman Mikhailovich, who was blinded and traveling from Bryansk to the miraculous Pechersk Icon of the Mother of God, first felt relief from his illness and blindness after praying and saw the road. A cross was erected in memory of this event.

In 1827, the church suffered from a severe fire that destroyed "the tops, roof, and domes". They had to be restored, as well as "repairing the walls" and re-pouring the vaults. In 1883, the northern facade along with the adjacent fence was painted. At the same time, a stone room for the gatekeepers was added on the eastern side. Beneath the church was a cellar for storing state property.

The church, located above the northern monastery gates, has a tiered structure. The first tier consists of passages and entrances to the monastery, while the second is the church itself. The main floor is divided by pilasters into three parts, each of which continues into three light drums: two octagons and one, the middle hexagon. The middle drum, the largest, is adorned with ornate window surrounds. The drums are covered with gentle tents, above which smaller drums with domes rise. The church building is an original tiered gate church with a three-part portal, combining Moscow and Ukrainian Baroque in its architecture. It is built of brick on beech foundations. During the restoration, the wall color was restored to red with white details.
