The museum of architects the Vesnin brothers opened in Yuryevets on January 15, 1986. It is located in a small two-story brick house from the 19th century, which belonged to the Vesnin parents, first guild merchants, until 1904.

The young merchant family of the Vesnins arrived in Yuryevets in the late 1870s. Their sons Leonid, Viktor, and Alexander were born here, who later became outstanding architects, creating many remarkable structures. The father of the architects, Alexander Alexandrovich Vesnin, was an intelligent entrepreneur, possessed an extensive library, and supported the cultural life of the city. Reading was a tradition in their home. Yelizaveta Alexeyevna, who graduated from a women's gymnasium in Nizhny Novgorod, was passionate about drawing and playing the piano, which she taught her sons, developing their artistic abilities from an early age.

The eldest brother Leonid stood out from childhood with his academic schooling and deep knowledge of architectural history. He was always accompanied by vivid artistic images formed in his childhood. The picturesque surroundings of the city shaped his artistic taste. For the younger brothers, Leonid's opinion, cautious and restrained, was an unquestionable authority. In 1899, he graduated from the Practical Academy and worked for a year in Yuryevets at his father's factory as an assistant. During this time, he finally decided to enroll in the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers, preparing photographs and plans of the churches of Yuryevets for the entrance exams. During the first holidays, he continued measuring the churches and drawing their plans.

The museum's exhibition is based on materials from the Shchusev Scientific Research Museum, personal archives of the architects' relatives, architect A.G. Chinyakov, art historian K.V. Usacheva, and materials from the Yuryevets Local History Museum. The widow of V.A. Vesnin provided significant assistance to the museum.

The exhibition features watercolors and documents from the family archive, as well as sketches of the architects' works. In the first hall of the museum, more than 30 watercolors and oil studies, transferred by the Vesnins to the local history museum in the 1940s, are collected. These works, mainly created in Yuryevets, where the brothers spent their childhood and youth, include sketches, projects, and photographs of their first works. Among them are independent projects by Leonid for the Shatura power station, industrial objects by Viktor, and theatrical projects by Alexander. The second hall is dedicated to the life and work of the Vesnin brothers in the post-revolutionary period.
