According to preserved documents, this house once belonged to the relatives of Peter I's cabinet secretary, Alexei Vasilyevich Makarov (1674, 1750). In the second half of the 19th century, his grandniece Vera Egorovna Makarova graduated from the Higher Bestuzhev Courses and married a young military doctor, Peter Mikhailovich Albitsky, the youngest son of the priest of the Fyodorovsky Monastery, Mikhail Silovich Albitsky. Since then, the Albitsky family, their children and grandchildren have lived in house No. 21 on Kardovsky Street.

The Albitsky House, located on Kardovsky Street in Pereslavl-Zalessky, is two stories: the first floor is stone with vaulted ceilings, and the second is wooden.

From 1880 to 1922, this house was home to the famous physiologist and professor of the Military Medical Academy, one of the organizers of the first women's medical institute in Russia, Academician Peter Mikhailovich Albitsky (1853, 1921). His scientific research on oxygen deprivation significantly influenced the development of aviation medicine and diving.

In 1913, Peter Mikhailovich was awarded the A. S. Uvarov Prize for his work "Materials on the Physiology and Pathology of Breathing." In 1919, he was elected an honorary member of the "Pereslavl-Zalessky Scientific and Educational Society." Throughout his career, Albitsky received numerous state awards: the Order of St. Stanislaus 1st class (1905), St. Vladimir 3rd class, St. Stanislaus 2nd class, St. Anna 3rd class (1879), St. Stanislaus 3rd class, a High Gratitude (1880), a dark bronze medal in memory of the war of 1877-1878, a medal in memory of the reign of Emperor Alexander III, a medal "In Memory of the 300th Anniversary of the Reign of the Romanov House," and a Red Cross badge. He rose to the rank of actual state councilor (1896).

In this house, the grandson of P. M. Albitsky, Soviet scientist and academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR P. N. Veselkin (1904, 1984), was born and often visited. Over the years, notable figures of Soviet science and artists have been guests here.
