In the early 20th century, a beautiful three-story house was built in Rostov-on-Don, owned by the Armenian merchant Grigory Chalhushyan. The building is located in the city center at 148 Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. Originally, the house was a gift from the Don landowner Stepanenko to his wife and was numbered 174. After Stepanenko's death in Paris, the house was acquired by Chalhushyan, who was known far beyond Rostov. Although it could be called an income house, in fact, all the residential premises were occupied by the Chalhushyan family. In 1920, after the arrival of Soviet power, the building was confiscated from the owner. For many years it fell into disrepair, but in our time, the house has been fully restored and included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional significance. Currently, there are no residential apartments in the building, and various companies and shops are located on all floors.
