The church externally resembles a ship and has three domes, with a tall bell tower rising above the narthex. Its walls are painted in white and red tones, while the domes are blue, with the central one adorned with golden stars. From the 1950s to the 1990s, the church was painted in turquoise shades, like many other 18th-century churches. Since the church is dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ, its exterior should be red and white. The interior decoration of the church was restored in the 20th century after its reopening in 1942, thanks to the efforts of parishioners, monks, and nuns, some of whom were secretly tonsured. All of them made a significant contribution to the improvement of the Holy Resurrection Church.

From 1943 to 2005, the iconostasis was two-tiered. On a white background with plaster moldings and gilding in the lower row, to the right of the altar's Royal Doors, there was a full-length icon of the Savior, behind which was the church icon of the Resurrection of Christ. On the southern side altar door was the image of Archangel Michael with a fiery sword in his right hand. Next hung a large icon of Saint Nicholas, directly above the left choir. On the back wall of the left choir was the miraculous icon of the Iveron Mother of God, painted on Mount Athos in the Russian Pantaleimon Monastery. To the left of the Royal Doors on the iconostasis were the Valaam icon of the Mother of God and the icon of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. Priest Vitaly Vesely made great efforts to reconstruct the church, replacing the old two-tiered iconostasis with a three-tiered one.

In the central part of the church, in 2008-2009, brothers Oleg Telitsin and Vitaly Dushin painted the ceiling and the back wall. They placed icons from the old iconostasis of the lower tier in the window reveals. In the last window on the left is the icon of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.

On the left wall of the central part of the church are particularly revered large icons. Among them are two in the Catholic style: "The Crucifixion of the Lord" and the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos with the Infant Savior on her knees. Opposite is the icon of the warrior martyrs: Great Martyr George the Victorious, Martyr John the Warrior, and Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica. Closer to the entrance is a large icon of the prophet Elijah. There are eight such large images in the church, four on each wall. Behind the icon of the prophet Elijah is the icon of Great Martyr Barbara, followed by Saint Dimitri of Rostov, and closest to the back wall, on the left, is the icon of Archangel Gabriel in full height. On the opposite wall, to the right, opposite the column, is the icon of the Resurrection of Christ, painted in 1997 for the altar by Nikolai Alexandrovich Kapinos.

Before the church was adorned with frescoes, this icon hung in the center of the altar. In the reveal of the next window are several icons of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. To the left, in the reveal of the window, hangs a particularly revered image of Saint Nicholas in greenish tones. On the analogion next to this icon lies the icon of the Three Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, created by local artist Ekaterina. On the right wall of the central part of the church are four large images transferred from the Trinity Cathedral: the prophet Enoch, the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, and the icon of Archangel Michael. After the construction in September 2004 of the church in honor of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov in the Cherevkovka area, some icons were transferred from the altar of the Resurrection Church, including the central icon of the Lord Jesus Christ the Almighty.

The external walls of the church are adorned with mosaic icons embedded in niches. They reflect the content of the church's feast days and are dedicated to its particularly revered icons. These include images of the Resurrection of Christ at the entrance and on the southern wall, the Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple, and the Three Hierarchs on either side of the entrance, the Savior on the eastern altar wall, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the righteous John of Kronstadt, the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, and the Savior Not Made by Hands on the four sides of the bell tower.
