The village of Emelyanovo is located 45 versts from the district town and 60 versts from Vladimir. The church in this village is first mentioned in the patriarchal accounting books of 1676 as recently built. This suggests that there was no church in Emelyanovo prior to this time. The church was consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1691, the same books recorded that an antimins was issued for the consecration of the church, likely related to its reconstruction.

In 1775, a new wooden two-story church was built, which was renovated in 1830 and existed in that form until 1877 when it burned down. In 1879, parishioners built a stone temple, and in 1885, a stone bell tower was erected next to it.

The church has one altar dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is well supplied with church utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. An ancient icon of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, adorned with a silver-gilded riza, is especially venerated and attracts not only local parishioners but also residents of nearby villages.

The parish is staffed by a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance is provided by a salary from the treasury of 400 rubles, as well as income from arable and haymaking land and services, totaling up to 200 rubles per year. Houses for the clergy members have been built by parishioners on church land. The parish includes the villages of Ostrova, Tyapilova, and Sulova, located 1-9 versts from the church, where the clerical records list 265 men and 323 women.
