The description of Suzdal from 1617 mentions: "the church with the refectory of Saints Peter and Paul, built by the parishioners, where priest Fyodor Lukin and deacon Ivan Fyodorov serve." The wooden churches stood until 1719, when a fire destroyed them. In their place, a stone church with the altar of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in 1720. In 1771, a warm winter stone church with the altar of the Nativity of Christ was constructed, replacing the previous wooden Peter and Paul church. In the 19th century, a porch was added to the church.

The church, built in a three-part pillarless brick structure, resembles a residential house. A five-sided apse, refectory, and narthex adjoin the rectangular main volume. The main volume and refectory are covered with a gabled metal roof and adorned with a small onion dome on a carved drum. The walls of the temple, decorated with pilasters, are whitewashed and topped with a crenellated frieze and a cornice. The arched window openings are framed with stone surrounds, and the narthex is decorated with a pediment featuring a fresco of the Nativity of Christ.

On December 20, 2000, the Parish of the Holy Nicholas Church in Suzdal was registered, which is part of the Vladimir Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
