On April 1, 1808, the Tobolsk archpriest Father Peter Felitsyn notified the clergy of Samarovo about the need to collect signatures from residents for the construction of a new stone church. The decree stated that the old wooden Intercession Church in Samarovo had become dilapidated and required repairs, while the construction of new wooden churches was prohibited. Therefore, it was decided to build a stone church in advance, raising up to two thousand rubles for this purpose.

At that time, there were 242 houses in Samarovo, with 721 men and 725 women living there. The clergy consisted of two priests, a deacon, and two church attendants. On July 1, 1808, the volost head Boris Gubin gathered a meeting where 115 peasants and yasak Ostyaks agreed to the construction and collected 1584 rubles and 30 kopecks. By November, the amount had increased to 1955 rubles and 25 kopecks, and the money was sent to Tobolsk.

Architect Shanygin from Tobolsk proposed to build the church next to the wooden church, which soon burned down. He insisted on a deep foundation, explaining that it was necessary for a stone church. The construction of the church was completed in 1815, but by 1843 it became clear that the iconostasis was unpainted, and services were not being held.

By 1860, the village of Samarovo had become an important landing with a stone church. However, in the 1920s, the church was destroyed, and the bricks were used to build a factory. A club was built on the site of the church, which later became a gymnasium and was eventually demolished.

In 1994, at the initiative of architect Nikolai Gordeev, the foundations of the church were found. The restoration of the temple was supported by local authorities, and the project was carried out by an architect from Novosibirsk. Restoration work began in 1996, and in 2004 the church was consecrated.

In 1999, the cornerstone for a new temple complex was consecrated. Work began in 2000, and the first brick was laid in 2001. In 2002, the domes were installed, and in 2003, the bells were consecrated. In 2005, a prayer service was held for the first time in the under-construction church.
