The first mention of the church dedicated to Archangel Michael dates back to 1616. Initially, it was wooden, but it burned down in 1697. In 1781, a stone two-tier church began to be built on its site by the blessing of Bishop Varlaam I of Tobolsk and Siberia. It was originally planned to be a single-story building with an altar in honor of St. John the Baptist, but during construction, it was decided to make it two stories. The first floor housed a warm church in the name of Archistratigus Michael, consecrated in 1791, while the second, cold church was dedicated to John the Baptist and consecrated in 1824.

In 1898-1899, a single-story northern chapel was built, consecrated in honor of the righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye, the patron of Siberia.

In 1911, the church was visited twice by Bishop Eusebius Grozdev of Tobolsk and Siberia. In 1920, the church was closed for services, and in 1922, by decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, more than 5 poods of silver utensils and precious stones were confiscated from it. From the 1930s, the building was used as a club, office, garage, and warehouses. In 1934, the domes were removed, and the bell tower was dismantled. In the 1940s-1960s, the portico of the main entrance and the staircase to the second floor were demolished. In 1941, the church became a garrison laundry, and in 1945, a cafeteria and dormitory. Later, the building housed Factory No. 769 and administrative offices of various organizations.

Since 1976, the church has been protected by the state as a monument of history and culture of regional significance.

In 1991, repair and restoration work began, and the church was gradually returned to the Russian Orthodox Church.

In 1997, the responsibility for the restoration of the church was entrusted to Priest Nikolai Egorov. Since then, work has been carried out to restore the base, bell tower, domes, and vaults. In 1998, the interior finishing of the upper chapel began, and the construction of the staircase to the second floor was initiated. The wall paintings from the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries were cleaned.

In 1999, on the feast day of the church on November 21, the first service was held in the chapel of Archangel Michael. In 2000, Priest Nikolai Egorov became the rector of the church.

With the efforts of the parish, a complete restoration of the church was carried out, internal and external plastering works were completed, gilded crosses were installed, a narthex was built, and iconostases were made. A heating and lighting system was created, wooden and marble floors were installed, and new window and door blocks were added. In 2005, new bells were consecrated and installed on the restored bell tower.

The parish has a chapel dedicated to the righteous Lazarus of the Four Days at the Chervishevsky cemetery in Tyumen, consecrated in 2003. The chapel was built by Anatoly Vasilievich Evseev.
