Historical information about the church is scarce. In the past, on the site of the village, on the left bank of the Peksha River, there was the Archangel burial site with a church in honor of the Archangel Michael. In the mid-18th century, the burial site disappeared, and a village called Arkhanyno emerged in its place, also known as Arkhangelka, which later merged with the village of Ankudinovo. On the topographic map of Vladimir province, compiled by Alexander Ivanovich Mende, who from 1849 to 1866 conducted topographic and cartographic work in the central provinces of the Russian Empire, the settlement of Arkhangel is marked.

There is a version that in 1867, merchant Grigory Belov built a stone church here in honor of the Archangel Michael, which was assigned to the church of the village of Alexino. Services were conducted by priests from the Alexino church on Sundays and holidays. According to another version, the church was built with the funds of landowner Mukhanov, near his house, but the reasons for its construction remain unknown. Initially, the church was a parish church. The surname Mukhanov is still found among the residents of the villages of Ankudinovo and Loginzevo, possibly descendants of the presumed builder of the church. The street adjacent to the church still bears the name Arkhaninskaya. Judging by the simplified architecture in the style of classicism and the small size, the work was carried out by local residents without the involvement of an architect or hired workers, which is confirmed by the uneven masonry of the church. To the west of the refectory, there used to be a bell tower, which has now been lost. According to local residents, it was destroyed in the 1930s by order of the Soviet authorities.

A church-parish school operated at the church of the village of Ankudinovo, where the teacher was Pyotr Petrovich Kalliopin, who graduated from the Vladimir Theological Seminary in 1894.

Interestingly, a chapel was built around the same time in the neighboring village of Loginzevo. According to Igor Sergeevich Golubev, a native of the village of Loginzevo, his great-grandfather Dmitry Yakovlevich participated in the construction of the chapel. It is possible that the chapel and the Mikhailov church in Arkhanin-Ankudinovo were consecrated by the same priests.

During the Soviet era, the landowner's house was used as a shelter for homeless children, and the church was converted into a dining hall. When the house required major repairs, the shelter was relocated, and the dilapidated dining hall-church was eventually converted into a nail workshop. In a state of abandonment as a nail workshop, the church was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church. In the 1990s, the community of believers began the restoration of the church. Currently, restoration is ongoing, and services are held regularly.
