The village of Kubaevo is located on the Kenge River, 10 kilometers from Yuryev. In the 16th century, according to the patriarchal books of 1645-1647, it was the estate of the Korobov landowners. In 1570, Vasily Vasilyevich Korobov sold Kubaevo to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery for 600 rubles. In the same year, on June 3, the elder Alexandra Sitskaya purchased the village for 400 rubles, but after her death, it again became the property of the monastery and remained so until 1764. The patriarchal books indicate that in 1593 there was a wooden church in the village in the name of Saints Boris and Gleb, with monastery icons, books, and candles. The church had a priest's yard, a prosphora bakery, 15 peasant households, and 10 landless households, as well as 20 church fields and 15 hay meadows.

In the 1628 records of the Patriarchal Treasury, the church of Boris and Gleb in Kubaevo is mentioned with a tribute of seven altyns and three altyns for the tenth. In 1654, due to a new decree and inspection, the tribute was increased to 1 ruble and 25 altyns. In 1698, with the blessing of the Suzdal Metropolitan Hilarion, the parishioners built a new wooden church on the site of the old one. In 1788, it was reconstructed: the altar was expanded, the southern porches were removed, a semicircular window was cut from the south, blind porches were made from the north, three round windows appeared in the church, the building was covered with planks, and the dome was covered with tin.

In 1855, with the funds of the parishioners, the construction of a stone church began. In 1856, a warm chapel in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh was built and consecrated, and in 1860, the construction and consecration of the cold church with the main altar in honor of Saints Boris and Gleb was completed. The stone bell tower, built in 1850, has survived to this day, although it was closed and desecrated during the Soviet era, and the fence was destroyed. The church houses an ancient linen antimins, consecrated in 1696 by Metropolitan Hilarion.
