One of the main treasures of Nalchik is the Atazhukin Garden, which is considered the pride of all Kabardino-Balkaria. Locals often refer to it as Central Park, as it is located in the very center of the city.

The history of the park began in 1847, when the first saplings of fruit trees were brought here from Georgia and Crimea. The park was named after Prince Atazhukin, its owner. Over time, the park's territory was developed, and its name changed several times. In 2007, after a major reconstruction, the park was returned to its historical name.

The central alley of the garden, nine meters wide and nearly one and a half kilometers long, is lined with maples, pines, and firs, filling the air with a unique aroma of greenery. The linden alley that follows forms a dense green canopy from the tree crowns. Of particular interest is the Flower Calendar, where the numbers of days, years, and letters of months are laid out with flowers. At the end of the alley stands the Palace of Celebrations with beautiful terraces, arches, and staircases.

The garden also features a drinking fountain, swimming, and decorative pools. There are monuments and obelisks dedicated to fallen soldiers who fought for the Motherland.

Central Park delights both locals and visitors to the city.
