The Holy Blessed Annunciation Cave Monastery, known as the Annunciation Monastery in Mangup-Kale, is part of the Simferopol and Crimean Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. It is located on Mount Mangup, about 25 km from the former capital of the Crimean Khanate, the city of Bakhchisarai, and near the villages of Ternovka, Sevastopol direction, and Zalesnoe, Bakhchisarai direction. To reach the monastery, one must climb 200 meters up the mountain, where there is a natural hollow in the rock serving as the entrance to the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The monastery includes two cave temple complexes located on two levels and has about twenty caves. These spaces serve as cells for monks, utility buildings, meeting places, and churches. All the caves were excavated by humans in the 6th century, although the monastery was finally established in the 14th century. Before that, hermit monks and hesychasts lived here, dedicating themselves to constant prayer.

The main church is located in the eastern part of the monastery and is small in size. Services are held there, and icons and candles are placed in the niches. Two tombs are carved into the floor of the church, possibly for notable monks or local princes. The temple is also equipped with a small bell tower.

The monastery houses several relics, including the Theophany spring and the icon of the Mother of God "Quick to Hear." There are also ancient frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries, which were studied and partially restored in the 1950s. On the altar wall, Christ is depicted on a throne.

Monastic life in the monastery ceased in 1475 with the arrival of Turkish troops and resumed only after Crimea joined the Russian Empire in 1783. However, in the 20th century, the monastery was abandoned again due to the arrival of the Bolsheviks. The revival of the monastery began in the 1990s.

Today, only a few monks live in the monastery, with the abbot being a permanent resident. Life in the rocks is difficult and unusual, but the rock churches are being restored, and monastic life is being organized. The monastery is adorned with well-kept flowerbeds.
