One of the most beautiful pre-revolutionary two-story houses in Rostov-on-Don is the residential building of merchant P.V. Khakhaladzev, built in the late 19th century. It is located on Nikolayevskaya Street, which is now called Socialist Street. Merchant Khakhaladzev lived here with his family until the arrival of Soviet power. It is difficult to describe the beauty of this building in just two words; it is a true masterpiece of pre-revolutionary architecture, combining several styles. The house deserves the attention of historians, art historians, local historians, and simply passersby who involuntarily notice it.

Today, the former home of merchant Khakhaladzev is in excellent condition and is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional significance. Currently, the building houses a bar and a Russian auction house.
