At the beginning of the last century, many Russian emigrants flocked to the West and East, with millions seeking refuge and ways to survive. Among them was the future famous American actor Yul Brynner (Yuliy Briner), who was only a few years old at the time. Yuliy Borisovich was born on July 11, 1920, in Vladivostok, where relative stability still prevailed. On his father's side, he came from a family of Swiss emigrants who had assimilated over two generations and considered Russia their homeland. Yuliy Borisovich lived briefly with his parents in Moscow, then found himself in Harbin, one of the centers of Russian emigration, later moving to Paris and, after a brief return to Harbin, to the USA.

In Paris, he became fascinated with Russian theater, which determined his future as a future Oscar winner. Upon arriving in the USA, Yuliy Borisovich was able to realize his talents. He initially performed in Broadway theater, where he slightly changed his name, and then began a career as a host and film actor. His efforts bore fruit: Brynner became recognizable, and in 1957 he won an Oscar. He was invited to leading roles and successfully debuted as a director. Brynner's career flourished, and at its twilight, he returned to the theater, combining various directions. Unfortunately, his life was short. In April 1983, he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and on October 10, 1985, Yuliy Borisovich passed away. After his death, a campaign against smoking began, becoming one of the first international anti-nicotine actions.

Throughout his acting career, Yul Brynner played 45 roles and actively performed in theaters. In the USA, he became a legend, while his homeland only recently remembered him. A memorial plaque has been installed on the house where Yuliy Borisovich was born, and across the street, there is a monument. He was truly an outstanding person, worthy of memory and respect.
