The first signs of the establishment of the monastery can be traced back to the mid-1980s. Since 1982, the rector of the Ermolino parish of the Resurrection of Christ, which had no more than 20 permanent parishioners, was Archimandrite Antoniy Loginov, who is now the spiritual father of the monastery. In 1994, with the blessing of Archbishop Amvrosiy, a monastic community was registered at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Ermolino, and this place began to be called the Ermolino Desert. The community included, in addition to Archimandrite Antoniy, three other clergymen: Hieromonk Varlaam Borin, Priest Andrey Lvov, and Hierodeacon Ilarion Sokolovskiy.

At the request of Archbishop Amvrosiy, His Holiness Patriarch Alexiy II and the Holy Synod approved the establishment of the Holy Resurrection Men's Monastery in the Ermolino Desert in April 1998.

The monastery owns a brotherhood building, constructed in 2003. It is a large three-story stone building with cells for monks. The first floor houses a library and a prosphora room.
