Ustinov Estate

Фото 1
The village of Grabovo is one of the oldest in the Penza region. Here lies a valuable architectural monument from the second half of the 19th century, an estate complex with a rich stone house built in 1875 by Alexander Mikhailovich Ustinov with the help of French specialists. The house was a copy of one of the houses in St. Petersburg, owned by M.M. Ustinov, and resembled fragments of the Winter Palace. By the end of the 19th century, the estate was one of the major estates in the Penza province. In addition to the main house, the park contained a church and outbuildings, as well as a distillery, starch factory, brick factory, and a water mill. The main house was located in the eastern part of the estate on a slope occupied by a park, while the northern part housed an orchard. To this day, the main house with remnants of the park and two stable buildings of historical interest have been preserved.
