The estate of M.P. Klapovskaya on Goncharna Street is a vivid example of an urban estate in the Empire style, preserved to this day.

Houses 14-16 on Goncharna Street form a classic ensemble, including the main house and two wings, connected by a fence with elegant wrought iron lattice and two entrance gates.

The estate was built in 1816 and 1823 for merchant I.S. Rakhmanov. The central building of the estate (house 16, building 1) is distinguished by a six-column Ionic portico and a wide open staircase. Its foundation consists of one-story stone chambers from the 17th century.

Despite its small size, the estate is a true adornment of modern Goncharna Street. The proportions of the building and the elegant stucco decor of the main house represent a fine example of Moscow architecture after the fire. The uniqueness of the estate is emphasized by the distinctive pattern of the stucco frieze.

In the 1830s, the estate passed to merchant P. Moloshnikov, who decorated the pediment of the main house with his monogram of intertwined letters 'P' and 'M'. However, the estate is most often referred to by the surname of its last owner, M.P. Klapovskaya.

During the Soviet era, it housed the 'House of Scientific Atheism', which helped preserve the estate. Later, it was replaced by the 'Center for Spiritual Heritage'.

Currently, the estate is occupied by the LIG 'Safinat' Company, which conducted a complete historical restoration of the main house. During the restoration, the original layout, picturesque and stucco ceilings, ceiling paintings, inlaid parquet, as well as furniture and interior details were recreated based on preserved drawings. The estate is open to the public twice a year: on Museum Day (May 18) and on Heritage Protection Day (April 18).
